I love Cheerios and Gold Fish more than your carpet. If you've got a car with kiddos spilling stuff all over, that's no different than what I deal with at home with my own kids. What's happening is that the oils from your dash evaporate onto the inside of the windshield. Simply using a glass cleaner doesn't actually clean the glass.
